Heres a mask im currently finishing up. He's a one of a kind "hybrid" of sorts I made by co joining 2 other previous projects, then adding a tongue.
Still working the paint... Im on the fence about the eye. Its gotta go to be wearable, but I still want to paint it. He'll get some heavy duty straps and buckles, and hand punched hair.
Thanks for looking!

EYE HOLE or not? –

Ok, so, as you said, the mask needs to be wearable - but you don't want to mess up that uber-cool design by cutting out the eye holes.
What to do? What to do?
The answer is simple. It came to me so quickly.
And it's so obvious I can't believe you didn't think of it yourself. Maybe you are tired, and that's why you didn't think of it. Or maybe you are too close to the project to think clearly.
Anyway, the obvious answer is that you leave the eye just as it is (go ahead and paint it any way you wish, though I would suggest a milky look with maybe a touch of yellowish pus) and mount a tiny video screen inside the mask.
That way the person wearing the mask can look into the video screen and see what is in front of him. You see, he has a small live-streaming video camera worked into his costume that is CCTV'd to the screen inside the mask! That way the illusion is complete.
Anyway, there you are. All figured out. The perfect solution.

I like this one alot as well. You are quickly becoming a master of your craft. I was reading a tutorial on painting latex masks and they were saying that after the first coat is airbrushed on they apply a thinned out layer of rubber cement mixed with some oil paint to accent the texture. They were using a tooth brush to spatter on some imperfections and then proceeded to blend in thin accents like you have.
Is this even close to how you do it?To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing. Aristotle

chop! ure very talented!!
never been a fan of the static mask (i.e a fell head mask that does not have moving parts like a real face) and so i always go with latex, make up and wax...
but gotta say this is fantastic!
