Here is my Zombie Pirate for 2011.
Last year she hung off my steps. No one really noticed her (they were after all there for the candy). I decided after last year to do more motion displays. I had too many that were static. Well, as luck would have it, in the spring she fell off her shelf (or was she pushed?). The legs broke and she suffered some other damage.
The idea came to me as I was breaking up my old grill to throw away. It dawned on me that the grill sort of looked like a treasure chest. So, I combined the two together.
Here she is:
The arm with the coins moves up and down. I made it out of extra PVC. I used fishing line to hang the coins from, it is too stiff, so I will switch it out with a thin thread. In the chest is a water pan from my old dehumidifier that has a water mister in it that changes color. I did this for effect. On the zombie parrot, I installed two red LEDs from my Darth Maul figure I built in 2009. I adjusted the eyes, I have them looking up and to the side, this is something I seen Mr. Chicken do that I really like. Too many times the eyes are just straight forward.
In the back of her will go my Anne Bonney Tombstone.
Here is a video I made (trying to learn the program). It shows her:
1) In Daylight
2) With an LED Spotlight
3) Green Flood Light - Much brighter in person
4) Blue Flood Light
5) Yellow Flood Light
6) Orange Flood light
Not sure what color I'm going with, still have red to try. I'm leaning towards Green or Yellow. Pretty happy, I think she came out ok.

It is Deer Motor from monster guts. I ordered 4 of them early in the year. Have two to go!

Sweet prop all around! I vote for the yellow light. Fits for a skeleton holding gold... weird and zombish.
