Ok guys, just planning my annual holiday across the pond. Just wondering what people over there would consider to be the best time to visit for halloween items?
This year is slightly different as in past years, we've usually come across around 16 to 20 September and stayed for 14 to 18 days, so leaving early October to return to the UK.
Thing is this year that my wife's employer won't allow her to take time off work at the end of the month, so we're in a bit of a quandary as to when to go?
We could go around 12 September for 14 days or so, coming back around 27 or 28th, or go early in October - say around 1 October for 14 days or so.
Just wondering what you guys think would be the best time where the stores would have most of the gear available but enough that they haven't sold out of all of the best stuff?
In past years we've usually had plenty of choice as we guess we buy early compared to most people over there (mid to late September) BUT sometimes stores have been a little slow in getting their stuff out and we think perhaps going early we miss the stores' full range of stuff as we're back home by the time they're fully stocked.
So in a nutshell, would say 12 to 27 September be the best time to go over or 1 to 16 October be better? Just a rough idea please?
If it makes a difference, we're going to Florida (again!).
Thanks all.

I would say September 12-27 I know Spirit Stores and Halloween Express open around the First week in September and Places like Target etc. should have their have their full line out by then. Plus you would be able to hit the opening weekend of some local haunts which most are opening September 24th this year if that is something you are interested in.
Sadly because of the economy shops are carrying less than they used to so if you see something you want grab it.www.DarkScares.com

I usually hit Target, Walmart, K Mart and Walgreens, plus Jo-Anns and Michaels.
I have visited a Spirit store but don't usually get much there because with the packaging the dimensions of the stuff I'd like to get would make it difficult to get in the luggage.
Last year by the time we left to fly home some of the Walmart and Target stores still didn't seem to have everything out - some stores had practically nothing on the shelves until early October.
I thought they seemed to be carrying less range than in previous years but didn't know if this was due to holding back until later?'Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few.’ Winston Churchill - Battle of Britain 1940.
