Hey guys, thanks for checking this out. I work at a haunt during October, and I was just curious if anyone had any ideas on how to get more sparks when I slide. I already have striker flints on my gloves but they just don't seem to be enough, if anyone has any idea please post them.
Thank you

Could you add steel to your knee pads? metal moving against anything abrasive and at a fast enough speed, will produce some amount of spark.
Or, you can always buy sparking knee pads. Can't think of a brand of the top of my head, but I did see a few options at last year's Transworld show.

Maybe attaching magnesium strips would make more sparks. Magnesium can be used to make campfires by striking it with a knife blade; perhaps it would do the same sliding on pavement.

Actually it's not the magnesium that sparks in a campfire igniter, it's the gigantic flint they include with magnesium firestarters. Magnesium is the fuel, and it can be dangerous since it's hot enough to ignite things that aren't normally flammable. Once the magnesium is lit it burns bright white but I don't think you want burning magnesium sliders, just sparking.

Many people buy these for the oversized flint and start fires without using the magnesium. You used to be able to get them in Walmart but I don't think I've seen them there recently. Maybe Sports Authority or maybe find a better price online (I just used the first link I found which had a good description of it).

Or carbon steel. I was in my local cutlery shop (pocket knives, fixed blades, swords, novelties and kitchen knives), anywho he had a Bear Grylles machete that was made with 1055 carbon steel. Said a guy came in with one he bought somewhere else before the shop had em. The guy working behind the counter said it threw a lotta sparks 'cause of the carbon.

Buy the replacement pads they sell for kids' scooters. They shoot out sparks when you tilt the scooter back. Much easier than dealing with exotic metals.
