This year I'm going to add a couple groundbreaking zombies. I'd like their eyes to light up. Any ideas? Maybe LED's? Do you have store-bought setups that you like, or do you make your own out of Home Depot parts?
I'm open to either battery powered or running off regular 110v outlets. Any suggestions for what has already worked would be greatly appreciated!

How about these:

They're glow-in-the-dark superballs, about an inch in diameter. If you use a UV spotlight to light your zombie, these eyes will really jump out at you.
Here's where you can get them:

EDIT: I have a bunch of these. You're only doing one zombie, so if you want, I'd be happy to send you a pair. PM me if you're interested."Waiter, there's a hair in my soylent green!"

I've used painted ping-pong balls for the eyes with LEDs inserted into the back of the ball for illumination.
I've got some of those glow balls like Pumpkinhed suggested. I haven't used mine in a prop yet.

I made the ones below out of regular old hot glue... Well I made a silicone mold of a sculpy eye and than I just added the hot glue to make the eye takes about 45 minutes to make the first mold but now I can make eyes in a few seconds... I also make them with resin. They work seem to work great for Halloween props...

I've used plastic round clear balls from Taps Plastics, drilled a small hole in rear, plugged in an led & pop into Bucky skull.
Sometimes use spray glass frosting for zombie eyes to fog them a little but still be translucent enough for the led to give a wicked glow !When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........

I did the ping pong ball and it works well. I bought my LED's and power source at Radio Shack.

I made about a dozen LED eyes using the instructions at horrorseek.com. They are 9V and really easy - just a little soldering. I put some into wig heads without "eyeballs" and some I put inside some ping pong ball eyes I found at Spirit Halloween last year. Or paint your own eyeballs on ping pong balls. I used high intensity blue LED's that were extremely bright. I got my supplies at Radio Shack. They have the capacitors, wire, LED's and battery terminals you will need for this method.

you can also get led "balloon lights" (try ebay) which are small single battery operated led lights in many various colours.
