    Eek! Fellow hallow fiends...

I totally forgot and so happy I remembered. Last year I was setting up the lighting for Halloween eve when I realized my light flashing, lightning fx thingie I got from spirit broke! The fuse blew and then I lost the black knob to keep the fuse in place. I had to go without cool lightning/light flashes

But my question is, where do I get a new one?! I looked at several places to try to find one. The original I bought was lightning fx at Spirit. You plug a light into it and place it next to music and the light flashes to music/sounds playing.

Not sure where to get another one! Any help is appreciated!!

These have all been discontinued but you may find some at an online resource somewhere. It will be a big search for a replacement but I'm sure you can find one somewhere. I have two myself and like the fact that you can create the thunder effects easily with these units! Maybe try taking it to the hardware store and get a new plug. They usually have a lot of various hard to find screws, nuts, washers and specialty items. Most fuse plugs are standard size too! So it shouldn't be that hard to replace. Best of luck to ya!
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..

"The Many Faces of Fear!" New for 2012!

Thanks for the info. I have no idea if I kept it or not. I just know it needed a new fuse. I think I lost the backing that holds the fuse in as well.

I think you are correct, discontinued. They were EVERYWHERE two years ago. I can't believe its so hard to find one.

Is there anything similar I can do to make the lights fllicker with the music without paying alot for it?

    Thanks.

If it is only the fuse holder you should be able to buy a replacement holder at radio shack for a couple of dollars and wire it in across the existing fuse holder. A couple of alligator clips could be used in line with the fuse to test for under $5. Worth a try before you trash it.

The ever popular question about the FX box! You can, if you are willing to spend around $30 for one, still find them through a seller or two on Amazon.com. I periodically check for them online at a lower price but haven't located any to date.

I have two of the FX boxes with the Xmas trees on them and they do make things just easy to set up, so for some it might be worth the price for the convenience. I'm kicking myself for not picking up a few more of the Xmas tree version at $10 from ABC distribution when they still had them. The Xmas tree version was manufacturered and being sold thru a company that Eyegore contacted to see if we could do a group buy of them thru but they told him, and this was just a few months ago, that they were discontinued.

Thank you all for the responses. I will try and find some way to fix the back of it and see if I can fix it.

Hauntedhorror - Yep any time i see them be it EBay or online stores $40 has been the going price

Adam - I got mine was about this time, it was June or July couple years ago. They had about 20 - 30 in the store at that time & I found 10 on the shelf last year too, I think was about April / May.
Seems they find stock hidden & the distribute them to several outlets randomly....
so it's all about luck at those stores........

If I find anymore, I'm buying whatever they have, they work for more than just lighting effects.
