Hello fellow haunters, new member here and first ever post on HF. Very excited!

Does anyone have a good suggestion of where to buy motion sensors to hack for pretty cheap? Is there some place online where you can buy them for cheap in bulk? or just going to a second hand store (big lots, etc.) and hope to get them cheap there? or a wholesaler online? I am looking to add probably 3-6 to my haunt this year and going to Lowes it'll cost me $80+ just for the sensors! Hoping someone here knows better.

Also, anyone with a link to the best way to hack a motion sensor to use for haunting purposes, it's much appreciated.

    Thanks again!!

If I remember correctly you just need a motion security light, splice it to an extention cord and screw those socket adaptors into the sockets that will convert it to a plug in. I find the motion lights for around $6-$8 bucks all the time. Hope this helps!

    -Walk into Home Depot.
-Go to the row with outlet covers.
-Purchase the motion-sensing outlet! All you do is plug the device into any outlet or three-prong extension cord and then plug your electic prop into the back of the device.
-Position the motion sensor end wherever visitors will be passing.
-BOOM! Now you have a motion sensor for any of your props, lights, or entire scenes! This product costs about $18!

This is the easiest solution I can find. The cool thing is you can activate an entire scene at once with the product. The minimum time it will stay on is a little under one minute.

Hope this helps! Also, you could click the YouTube link and read the description there for more info!

You can buy the motion sensor security light fixtures for about 10-20 bucks at wal-mart. go to the DIY section, find the lighting aisle, and they're usually near the end where the porch lights are located.
