After finishing the were wolf I decided to use the other mannequin for a headless horsemen. I would like to give all the credit to CIV for providing the inspiration and having such a wonderful blog site. I am sure most of you are aware of his site, but here is the link......[/SIZE]http://civslegendofsleepyhollow.blogspot.com/.......

After studying his HH and watching the movie again, here is my version of the HH. By no means is he as awesome as CIV's but I am pleased with how it come out.

First I cut the head off the manneq, filled the neck stump with great stuff and painted then went to the thrift stores and purchased the cloths to fit him. I cut the back design and the chest plate out of some scrap black and grey vinyl I had. Bought a pair of cheap suede work gloves from Big Lots and painted black then made the gauntlets out of some old leather scraps and glued them to gloves. $ tree had some armour in the toys that are plastic so I cut those and glued to top of gloves. I made the tall boots out of an old pair of leather pants I didn't wear anymore. Had a pair of old blk boots my friend was going to take to the TS. glued the pant legs over the boot tops and added extra piece to cover top of boot

Once dressing and costume fitted, I took the great stuff and with gloved hands , wiped all over the HH costume, I found this easier then with a paint brush, it didn't fling all over and even with gloves somehow I managed to get some in my hair, ouch.......lol
    continued.......

The cape was made with blk and red fabric, added a leather collar, and smeared great stuff all over the inside and outside.

I did not put the dragon design on the chest plate, I kinda like the way the great stuff went on, so I decided to keep it like that.
I used spray paint in blk, brown, grey, and silver to paint the costume and cape.
I found some spurs from Hobby Lobby a while back and used those painted silver.......continued.................

Here he is all painted and finished.

Again I would like to Thank CIV for the inspiration in creating this prop.
Let me know any thoughts or suggestions.

I've been wanting to do a Headless Horseman since the movie came out, and bought the replica sword and axe just for that purpose, but I just don't feel a Horseman without a horse really works. I've been looking around for a lifesize horse sculpture, but they are always either too expensive or can't be taken apart to store during the off-season.

I like this a lot... What are his hands made of? Last year I made a stand up clown for a carnival theme which required him to hold a huge hammer so I had to make hands that could "Grip" the prop... the result was hands that can be posed in any position.

thanks, I stuffed some suede work gloves with poly fill and put wire in each finger to be able to bend fingers.
