Thread: Need a non food based blood recipe

I am searching for a decent blood recipe that is not sticky or food based. Last year the amount of clean up due to sticky blood was, in itself, the most terrible part of our haunt. I ended up throwing away some props (easily replaced, but still a pain) due to the crap that was stuck to them because of the blood.

Any ideas? Would love ideas that don't stain, but thats not a huge deal. Being non toxic is vital though.

There are several companies out there like Minions Web and Skeleton Foundry that sell hot glue sticks that can be used for a blood effect. I also seem to remember seeing a thick paint or epoxy mix that gave a high gloss "just poured" blood effect, I'm sure you could do that with any two-part epoxy with the right colorant... not sure what the formula would be, though. Maybe someone else out there remembers.
