Hey guys! I'm fairly new to the forum, but I'm loving it thus far! I love there is a place I can go that shares an interest in Halloween and prop building as I do. I am currently working on plans for my 2011 Halloween Party, which will have the theme of Sleepy Hollow. I plan on focusing alot on lighting, and I want the props to be illuminated this year to give the party not only a creepy look, but add to the party atmosphere. Last year, the word got out about my scarecrows, and I had a great turn out, hopefully my graveyard will do the same.
The largest piece I'm building this year is Ichabod Crane's Tombstone. It's celtic inspired with a large cross on top. This is my first piece of this size! Now I'm wondering where I'm going to store it... lol. The idea is for the name plaque and other plaques on the sides of the base be illuminated from behind by a green back light, or string of green christmas lights. The cross will also be illuminated from inside by a string of lights. As the project progresses, I'll post pictures. Any comments or ideas on how this prop can be "over the top" let me know!!!

Cross looks great. Looking forward to seeing this lit up.
Do you know the terror of he who falls asleep? To the very toes he is terrified, because the ground gives way under him, and the dream begins.

Well how lucky am I !!! I'm also adding an Ichabod Crane tombstone to my collection this year. But I've decided I'm going to let you make one for me instead. M'kay? You seem so much more organized with the project than myself.
The work you've done thus far looks fantastic and I love the tree detail you have coming off the "b" in Ichabod's name. FANTASTIC!
And welcome to the forum by the way!
