Sounds cool but you may want to go low tech. I'm just thinking about all the problems they had with "Bruce the shark' in "JAWS"... and those builders were professionals. =)

Anyway, a person dressed in a swamp monster or bog creature costume could pop up out of the water and give a good scare. You could also have some type of large lilly pads and/or moss things floating in the pool for your "actor" to blend in with so the people won't suspect anything. A nice layer of cold fog over the water would look nice also.

It may be cheaper as well because you'll only have to dress your actor from waist up. Or you could always go this route:

Ahhhhh young Jason Is there any problem you cant fix.

    Good Luck, Marc

well, the problem with having a live actor, is holding their breath. you can, however have a dummy, that u make, it must be light, and some strong fishing line, attatch the line to the dummy, and have a person or a motor, with motion sensor, activate it

I'm just putting it out there... but if you did have a live actor, you wouldn't necessarily have to worry about them holding their breath. You could have a scuba tank on the bottom of the pool with a regulator to breathe off of (most scuba shops have rentals). Just be sure the person is at least certified and expells air while they are surfacing.
