Here is a good picture of the type of geometry your 4 bar should be set for. I modified the picture so you can see most of the range. The red depicts the cylinder near full retraction. The black would be near full extension. As you can see you will get a nearly reclined position to standing erect.

hmm. he doesnt need to be sitting really. theres nothign to him such as a body goes. he has a head and then a cloth cloak almost. so he will just almost fold up when hes lying on the ground so no one will really notice it and then somethign can pop out and he rises up in the air to the tots.

but yes a four bar would be good that can retract to the ground and rise up. he has arms that can slip over each arm.

ive had no luch finding videos of 4 bar mechs. anyone know any. i know i used to see some on yourtube but now that im trying to find them i cant lol!
