Ok guys, bear with me...kinda new to this.I'm building a guillotine using a garage door opener to lift the blade up,i have it mostly figured out except for it re-tripping during the winding up of the blade.Using a motion detector from wally world to activate an air cylinder to push the motor sideways"opener mounted on its side with a drum to wind up the rope".when activated the rope spools of and the blade free-falls .My problem ...is when its winding back up and it re-trips from the motion detector it it screws up the sequence and twists the rope up.What i need is a timer or something to stop it from re-tripping for 10 or 15 seconds till it rewinds.....any suggestions...thanks

have you tried placing the motion sense in different locations?

you need a relay. id use a pico boo jr. simpel controller and will give you the relay you desire.
slightly more expensive but will ulitmiatly stop you from ripping your hair out lolLost Souls Cemetery and Asylum

This is actually not too hard to deal with. You sensor resets and trips too soon. So don't allow the sensor to trip the prop until the unit winds back up. How. The infamous micro switch. Just mount one where it will get actuated when the unit ends up when it is fully returned to it's ready position. Now run one of your sensor wires to the common of the switch. Then run from the NO on the switch a wire back to the termination point that trips your prop. Now I am assuming that once tripped the prop will run the garage door opener until it reaches it's limit.
Here is how it will work. When the unit is at it's home position the switch will be made and the sensor circuit will be complete and readyt to trip the prop. Once the prop is tripped by the motion sensor the prop will start it's movement and the switch will open. Thus the motion sensor will be unable to trip the prop until the prop returns to the home position and the switch is closed again. Simple.

where is the "like" button when you need it... just a simple circuit break will work i.e a momentary switch so that the motion sensor is on when the button is pushed and off when the button is not pushed. you could use a tab on the guillotine blade stock thing tap hold the button mounted to the top of the prop.

You say Potato, I say Potaaato. Micro switch / Momentary switch. Same / Same. Like we both said. Break the circuit in a controlled manner.
I would like to see the circuit. My main concern is will the motion sensor still be active / powered and can the trip signal be broken. The thing about motion sensors is they need to warm up, and they are sensitive to input.

I thought i could use a delay timer...but not sure now.
