i have found some plans to make my own fog chiller, seems cheap and easy. my question is how well do they work. is it a "must have" or not. i found it on "haunters hangout". my fogger works great already so didn't know if i needed it also.

Here is the link to Haunters Hangout.

Attention members. I do not know what the link is that is given in the OP ( Original Post ) I would advise not clicking on it. I have no idea what Mu$lim Hacker is. But that is what comes up if you click on it. Now I need to run my MalWare program.

fog chillers would look great in a cemetery type scene but for anything else I would recommend it. Last year I did an insane asylum with an electric char and an Isolation Unit (it was really only a crate that I could barely fit into) I did not use a chiller and the fog was everywhere. it made the whole area cloudy and it was perfect.

in my experience, they work OK at the beginning when the chiller is nice and cold, but eventually the temperature rises and the fog doesn't lie low as much. i've heard of putting salt in the ice. there is also specialized fog formulated to hang low for longer --- not all fog is made the same.
if you ever go to the trade shows and meet the guys at Froggy's Fog, they'll be able to teach you how to make an effective one.

What is strange is there really is a Hacked by Mu$ims. I don't know why the link did that. I am running a scan on my PC just in case. I will post if my Malware finds anything.
But to address your question.
I think most haunters use a fog chiller. We all want our fog to lay as low as possible to give that creepy graveyard look. The designs are as diverse as the props you see.

Something many have mentioned is that if you're running the fogger in the yard and no one will be walking through the yard, wet the grass down right before you get started. This seems to help hold the fog down.
