I don't think I'm original here. But I made this spotlight from a cheap one from Home Depot and a Soda Bottle. The size of a 20 oz soda fits perfectly over the bulb (which is a CFL). So besides being cheap and easy to make it was also tasty and quenched my thirst.

Cool idea! I'll have to remember that when I need lighting and I'm thirsty!

I have the same light that I used with my CFL blacklight bulb last year with my FCG. The bottle would have made it more effective. Now to get someone to pick up a 20oz bottle the next time they're in the US.

Are we seeing the back side of shiny silver spray-paint on the bottle?

The bottle I painted Black, the hot glued. I added the tape to cover any light holes and to make it a little more rigid.

I have three of those lights and have wanted to do something like that but did not know what to use because they get pretty warm. Thanks for the idea!
