I was going for a mad lab theme for my yard this year but discovered Steampunk instead. I would like to do my haunt in that fashion but I can't seem to find examples. I have seen a lot of great costumes and accessories but not really anything I can decorate my house and yard around.

I have a couple ideas including using a fog machine to try and imitate steam busting from pipes on a machine I have yet to develop. I'm also looking into a prop that resembles a device on a video game I was playing. And I still plan on using the firecracker group buy as a fuse box prop of some kind.

If any of you haunters out there have decorated in this theme or know a source please fill me in.
    Muhahaha!!

I worked on a steampunk set we did for one of our shows at Texas A&M and it was ok but if you ue fog make sure you have a fast fan. we had a smoke stack that looked the part but the "steam" kinda just poured out the top it didn't really look like steam.
as for props try looking for scaffolding and costume wise to be scary think exterior mechanical like what would have been use din the old days instead of a cast

I have to admit that I had to Google steampunk to find out what it even is. On the plus side, the wiki page for it shows a couple in front of a steam engine, so I would think making the front of a 1940's steam engine, with fog coming out of the push rod areas and smoke stack, and a working light, would look great and wouldn't be too hard/expensive to make.
