My dad and I built a CO2-powered cannon blast for a parade float, when I was in high school. He picked nitrous oxide (common vernacular: NOS) solenoid valves. On the float, we also had the CO2 flow over a tube connected to water, so it would pick up the water and atomize it along with the C02 stream. This one, however, looks like it's pure C02, because the spray doesn't stick around at all.

All ready "Goes Up In Smoke!"
Or so it sure seems!??
Could be a neat looking deal. My tour is much more of a "parlor" experience, small groups looking at and listening to me telling them things in a small dark room."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

PLEASE BE CAREFUL PEOPLE!!! We're talking CO2 here. The same stuff that is used to smother various types of fires. Why? Because it depletes the OXYGEN. Yea, that same stuff we humans breathe to keep living. Can you say "Asphyxiation"?
Know the hazards of what you are using in your haunt enviroment.

I think this prop is outside. CO2 is inert. Not likely to be a concern in this situation. Inside a closed garage. Yeah that would be a bad idea. But as you can see by the video CO2 is used often in even indoor stage events. One might think those blasts of CO2 have volume, but what you are seeing is a highly compressed gas expanding rapidly. The actual volume as compared to the ambient air is minor. Certainly nowhere near the 5% danger level. Or even the 1% irritation level. The gas is 1.5 the density of air, so it will drift to the floor and disperse rapidly. Notice that a permit is not required to use this prop. That in itself establishes some aspect of inherent safety.

Just checked out a few of the cryo sites and are those expensive! Don't know how much total volume you need but how about a fire extingisher?
