Greetings, all! I thought I would share a cheap prop idea that I will be using this season in my haunt. It isn't SUPER impressive, but it's a pretty neat startle effect.

I was shopping in a local thrift store a few months back when I ran across a Wahl "Sweet Dreams" bed massager. (see the link I'm adding for a pic) I wasn't real sure at the time what I could use it for, but at $3.00, I really didn't wanna pass it up! What I could use it for finally came to me the night before last: If you cover a wooden wall with heavy plastic (I'm using "Lumbar Covers" that were donated to our haunt for free by Lumbar King), you can run the vibrating pads of the massager between the wall and plastic, and put the massager control on the other side of the wall. Then, drill a small hole in the wall so when guests pass by, an actor can turn on the massager. The plastic housing of the vibrating pads of the massager "smack" against the wall fairly loudly!

I know this isn't the greatest scare, but it dose catch people off guard and in the right atmosphere, can get pretty good results! To add to the look, I have hung two 11" X 14" picture frames on the wall where the vibratos are hidden behind the plastic.

Well, I'm not real sure. My original idea was to attach the pads to the picture frames and make cheap "Banging Picture Frames", but the frames were to heavy for the pads to cause them to "bang". At best, the frame would only move slightly. :/ That's why I went with the "Wall Banger" idea... You are welcome to try it though! If you do and have success, please let us know!
