Hello,
I work at a very ellaborate Haunted House in North Carolina, built by Hollywood make-up artist, and I've been working there 3 years going on my 4th and I just wanted some of you guys ideas on some props I could build to add to the effects... nothing too big just something to spruce up the rooms a bit, most of our props are hollywood props like you would see in a movie, but ive just had a few ideas and wanted to see what everyone else could come up with
so far I'm building one of the Exploding Fuse boxes to add to one room

What about "experiments gone wrong" That's kinda where I'm heading this year. Overgrown spiders, mixed species, multiple heads, any sick deformity you can think of.

Sorry, I tend to get carried away... Do you have people reaching through walls, that one always gets me. I went to a theme park last year that had hanging clowns and one was on a motion sensor and started kicking when you got near. It obviously doesn't have to be clowns, it could be anything, larva bags, slabs of meat, bodies with gashes. OK, I'm doing it again, I can't help it, I have way too many ideas for my tiny budget LOL Good luck

I love the rooms that are black with florescent dots. Then someone is wearing black with dots painted on them also. Then they move and it freaks you out! Those are the coolest!

I seen at transworld a coat/hat rack that moved! It was pneumatic and a hat lifted and shot air at passerbys. Startled me!
We are probably doing something along those line this year with a coat rack but it will sit against a wall where there is a hole. then someone on the other side of the wall will reach through the hole and the coat rack. I want the hole in the wall big enough that someone can actually rach clear through the hole and push the coats aside and almost be 'in' the coat rack. Thought about altering the rack so that there was actually a square in the middle of the rack where the person reaches through, rather than around the pole...

I personally use the Magic Mirror puppet from Imagineerieing.com
But a friend of mine, who helps out at a Haunted House run by a youth group, uses the Gordo digital "puppet" in a staging room before they send a group through. You can see the Gordo Pumpkin here. He says thatit rally helps relax the visitors before they put the fear into them.
