Hey guys its Greg. I know some of you guys here are skilled in working
with audacity. I was wondering if it was possible to to split a track so
you would have the singing on one track and the music on another.
If so then what do you do (like what buttons do you press).I am
programing singing pumpkins with Vixen and thought it would be easier
like that so I could hear the background music seperately. Any help would
be appreachiated. Thanks in advance.
From your message I take it that you would like to isolate the vocals, and or seperate them from the originaly mixed vocal/music track. This process is very easy to replicate in reverse IF you are wishing to remove vocals, for a karaoke track. BUT, the same process does not work for isolating vocals. Vocal Isolation is very tricky and is something that even master audio engineers have trouble doing! (sucessfully)
With the program Audacity you can remove most of the vocals from the center of the audio mix, by inverting the left track, converting both tracks to MONO and remixing. This process removes any center channeled sound (usually the vocals) making a karaoke, music only, audio track.
As stated above, this technique does not work in reverse. You will need to try something else to "isolate" the vocals. Audacity and most audio editing platforms do not have the capabilities necessary sucessfully keep the vocal seperated from the music, unless it is already two seperate tracks. Great vocal isolation for all intensive purposes, may as well be a wish.
Sorry!
I would reccomend experimenting with the noise removal tool, and EQ adjusting to get the desired effect. But, you should be warned...You probably won't be happy with the final quality.
Import (L+R Stereo) MP3
