Had an idea. Start with this Instructable:
    http://www.instructables.com/id/Chea...ider-Illusion/

But instead of making the legs static, attach them to some sort of FCG apparatus, so they move.

I'm currently thinking of how to make them move. Anyone done anything related to this? Got any good links that could help?

That is fantastic! Very good movement. Do you have anything that details the way the legs are attached to the torso for such fluid movement?

Okay, I read your page more carefully and see that you attached the legs to the abdomen with rope. Do you have a pic or two detailling that connection?

Sorry it too so long to get back. It rained here the last week, and wife's got me busy in the yard now that the sun is shining. I will look for my setup and pull it out. I need to restring it anyway, and if I can get it done now, one less thiing to do come October. For the spider, I bought one similar to this http://www.buycostumes.com/30-Brown-...uctDetail.aspx . Then I made a small slit in the fabric of each leg where it attaches to the body. I then cut the wire at the body, and sewed the slit shut. This gives you the free flow between the body and legs, while leaving the wire in the legs to pose them however you like.

Great! Thanks for the additional info. I think I'm going to build my spider from scratch, so it can look similar to the other spiders I'm building. Good to know how simple and loose the legs attach to the body -- that's nice and simple.
