I saw a site somewhere about this. The nuts and bolts were cast with a silicone mold and the a resin mixture was used and poured into the mold for the casting. You can even the mold the heads and glue these onto the prop.
Always scarying the YELL out of them.

I also saw the page darkmaster mentioned, cant recall where though.

A simple and very inexpensive way is this. Press the bolt, ( the head works best), into a thick slab of flattened clay ( any type)...you now have a mold. Mix a little plaster of paris, and pour right into the clay. When its dry, bend the mold a bit so you can remove the plaster copy of the bolt. paint it up. Do, as many as you want. This is really good for just the head of the bolt, as you can glue it onto the prop so it looks bolted down as darkmaster also said. Good Luck!

If you want to mold small things, I noticed recently that Joann in my areas is clearancing the large-ish box of Super Elasticlay for $3 (retails $10). It's not really useful for molding anything big but it should be perfect for this. Then you could make the bolts out of either silver polymer clay or plain white and paint them.
