I need help trying to modify a regular motion senor that has a delay of about 30sec or so and I need it to control an air cannon. I've seen one online but was wondering if anyone knew how to make one?

    something like this

Last year i used a pir from a local hardware store.

It was designed to activate an external light. I belive it was rated at 5amps. I simply used it to activate a small relay that was used to turn on the power to an extension lead at 240v (uk).

It had the ability to adjust how long it turned the light on. When the power was cut, the relay cut the power to the mains.

Used it to power another relay which turned on and off the switch on a fog machine, and the power to a wincscreen moter, and lights. Used in a monster in a box.

is the exact product. UK based retailer though but im sure your find one locally.

You can do it cheaper with a simple prop timer. You just add your motion sensor then your air cannons solenoid to it.

Dial the delay so the air has time to fill the tank for the next trigger.

These work great for those props that need time to recharge.

Two years ago I bought a few of these little beauties for some cheap PIR devices.

I mounted them in some project cases with a contact relay inside. I used them for some store bought contact activated props.

I also wired some them to throw a larger relay attached to a 110v circuit. I was quite happy with the results. Not as cool as some of the other prop timers but you don't always need a full blown controller. I ordered some more for this year.
    Boo!
