the build begins ... chalenge #1...First I want the scarry-go round to actually rotate, ok make a platform for the horses, bond the two pieces together then test on some dolly wheels ...need track to keep platform from sliding off wheels, rotate and fix use power drill with wheel attaches to see how much torque is needed to rotate ...lots of torque needed, will need high torque low rpm motor enough to move 100 plus pounds.. winch type motor needed.. move on to build.. cut 8 pieces of 10 inch styrofoam into 1 foot sections with hand saw.. drink beer... mock up sections and cut 4 pieces to fit octagon shape drink beer. supplies needed possibly some sono tubes, not sure if I have enough halloween mats to complete top section, figure out what adornments may go onto sono tubes, figure out what to sculpt on bottom platform,, how many sections , i want to take this apart so that is another challenge . now time to rest and drink beer watch the hockey game

Yay!, this is getting exciting. Have you picked the motor yet? If not, you may want to look at a rotating Christmas tree stand.

Look forward to seeing this. Too cool!

One concern though. I'm only going on what is said and shown here. The wheels that are bolted to the bottom of your platform-Do they need to be swivel casters? I'm pretty sure that if one of them is the least bit off you will end up with a hopping effect. Just like a car with bad alignment.
