I am starting this thread so everyone can share what kinds of back drops, scenes, effects they are deploying this year.......Remember the scene sets the mood and prepares our "victim's" for the scareSo please feel free to share your ideas on backdrops, scene settings and what not
I was going to use plywood or osb but the prices are way to high to make it logistically sound...Sooooooooo we are going with drywallI really like working with the stuff....Even when you kinda screw up and maybe break a large edge portion off, it can still be used, hell it might even make the scene creepier....The drywall compound is not only cheap but you get a lot of it!!!! I have been waiting until it was close to drying and carving out my structures. If you want realistic brick, or stone masonry then this stuff is easy to work with and affordable!!!!
So far I have 1 full scene room done!!!! I used drywall and masonry compound, then painted. The scene is a lil girls bedroom, dismal water stained walls, an old iron bed, dreary doll babies and a boarded up window. My wife will be playing the part of the lil girl.....She is only 4'9" lol.......Her costume is an old white children's dress that has been torn and stained. She will have loosely wrapped bandages on her arms and legs, as she moves the bandages reveal various pulsating sores......She will be wearing the mask from "The Hills Run Red"......The mask will be applied after all makeup has been put on. She will be pulling the mask away from her face during the haunt, so I figured it would just add insult to injury to have the mask latex'd on in a few spots. Now when she removes the mask it looks as if it is taking some nice hunks of tissue with it![]()

I plan to use a lot of black fabric for plants (like always) but this year! Hopefully, I will use the many scene setters wall clingers. Depend on the winds, of course....

Last year I used some scene setters that I got from Halloween city last year. I used it for our pumpkin carving party. I had an extra one so I'll probably use it this year as well since I'm doing a Haunted Harvest theme this year. Just need to get some more creepy scarecrows this year. Anyways, here's a pic:
