This month I picked up a Poolmaster floating crocodile and posted about it under the shopping thread. I thought since I'm going to use it as a halloween prop I should probably also post about it in this section for those who might be interested and don't frequent the shopping thread. With pool season fast approaching, these will most likely get "snapped up" quickly.
Here's the link to the shopping thread post: Tuesday Morning Poolmaster Floating Crocodile

Yeah it's chock full of detail. Actually I ended up paying $27 for the one I bought because when the clerk opened up the factory sealed box it had a small crack in the top tail section right around his hind legs. I think it was just how he was finished but was concerned it could at some point crack into two so they were willing to cut me a discount. They had sold all the ones that they had gotten in already so this was the last one. Heck for what I'm using it for and it will be seen at night anyway I was happy with the price.
I wish the croc was longer but then it would be harder to store I guess and probably more prone to breaking. I suppose you can give the illusion of him being bigger if you hide his back leg area under some weeds with just the tip of the tail area showing.
I have two other floating props I will use with him. These are just croc head sections (made from similar material) and they have a small solar panel in their head which powers their eerie yellow eyes at night when switched on. Bought those guys from a TJMaxx a few years back for under $20 each. (It pays to look through the men's area even if you aren't shopping for men's stuff at the moment, seeing is that is where they seem to shelf all the cool grown up toy stuff). Here's a link to a place selling this variety, btw this place has a nice inventory of pretty realistic floating critters if you check out their website. All of the floating creatures are fun stuff that hopefully will add to some nighttime atmosphere to my swamp. I've contemplated adding the hippo (also pictured on the above site) and using it in my Nile river tomb raider theme. Some place had them on clearance last year for $20 something and I almost bit.

$1 an inch! Not bad for the amount of detail though, might have to swing by to see if my store has one!

That crocodile looks pretty realistic! Is that supposed to keep the dog out of the pool or the neighbors?

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

I gotta get me one of these!
And for giggles, as soon as it gets home.... gonna put it in the backyard right next to the fence where the nieghborho...I mean neighbor's trampoline is.
After the screams, the kiddies are gonna love it.
Then they get to meet the planted zombie on the front porch. Muh ha ha haa... I hope they don't think I'm contained until Halloween
