    I just saw them build a lcd/over head projector projection t.v. on that show junk raiders (recycling junk)

    Was thinking about building one myself.

    This is a great idea for a cheap solution. Especially since overheads can be found so cheaply.

    One word of caution: they're not very bright at all. A friend of mine built one and they work well in full darkness. Not so great even when a light was on in the adjacent kitchen.

    It all depends on how you want to use it.

    Overhead projectors can be very bright since its assumed you'll be using them outside at night. Even with the other lights around it (decoration, street lamps, etc.) it will still be dark enough to project happily. How big you want to project is up to you, but this a 15" lcd monitor stripped and place on a free overhead projector. The screen is 165" 16:9
