Looks easy, and depending on how thick you use the modpodge, or even layer the colors, you could get quite a nifty effect...

Unfortunately, in my experience, solar lights don't cast the most flattering of light. Plus they don't last very long, even with a full charge.

Ah, but shining out of colored jars might mute the bright white just enough to be interesting. I could see making some purple and orange ones to line a path, or layer the color (do one layer, let dry, do second, rinse and repeat) to get a deeply colored, more opaque look that might look pretty cool lighting a graveyard...

I wouldn't try this unless I can pick up some solar lights for cheap, but it's a "to do" now, so I'll have to see how they turn out.

They have solar lights at my local Dollar Tree, although they're probably not very bright. The problem with 95% of solar powered lights is they look cheap, with their off-colored bluish-white leds.

This would be a neat addition to a swamp theme! I would have to Sharpie over the led with a yellow marker though. Cool use for a Mason jar!

I really like this idea! I think the colored glass might nicely mask the harsh "white" LED light. I think this might have a lot of possibilities. Thanks for the idea!

Nice. I now have a new use for my old solar lights with broken globes!

thanks Frankie's girl, this looks like a project for this weekend. A friend of mind is redoing her vows and I have been looking for some type of ligthing for the pier at the river where we will have the reception. This will work great. I'll post pics of the occasion in June.
