    I have this tool and it works well for engraving tombstones, but I have the professional power supply. I don't know if the power pack shown in your link may be less powrful, but I think the worst case scenario would be that it works a little slower. If you decide to get this, I'd suggest springing for an extra twenty bucks and get this too:

    It works great for keeping a consistent depth and angle of cut, and you can use a straightedge to make perfect straight lines.

    I use an exacto knife. Here's a tutorial that may help. (there's another good tutorial around here about engraving, but I still haven't found it yet.

    I use exactly what cathy uses an exacto knife. Blade has to be super sharp then I use a big plastic sandwich toothpick that has a dart kinda end to it and pick it out with that.

    thanks everyone since the hotwire factory will be at the convention i am going to theyll have them on display so ill check it out for now ill use an exacto knife and most likely purchase a dremel.

    I use an Xacto knife and a Dremel. I've tried using hotwire type tools with inconsistent results.
