I have a Master gracey portrait I want to put in an LED tv.
But I thought I read somewhere here about LED tvs going into hibernation.

anyone here know if an LED tv would work for this/

What they call "LED" TVs nowadays are LCDs backlit by LEDs. A true LED television would have a miniature RGB LED for each pixel on the screen. But even the current LED televisions would be much more energy efficient than standard LCDs, which are backlit by fluorescent bulbs.

Any "sleep mode" would depend on what the manufacturer has programmed into the television. I haven't seen a TV with sleep mode but I know some have it. You would have to download the manual for that specific model and see if it has an option to disable it.
