I saw this Voice Alert Wireless Monitoring System with 2 Motion Sensors for sale over on the Costco website. Sounds kind of interesting and thought it might be good for using to help monitor one's haunt and props at Halloween time. There's a link to the manual if you click on the Operating Instructions link under Product Details. Nice that you can purchase additional sensor/transmitters too (monitor up to 6 areas).
Has anyone ever used one of these kind of systems before?

Being only of the age of 19, I wouldn't be able to swallow $150. But I just put my stuff out on the 31st (usually, depending on the day it falls on) and it's down again on Nov. 1st. So monitoring my stuff isn't a concern for me. And the computer sits right at the front door, and we're watching out the door the whole time we're active.

Why not just hack some motion lights and place them around the yard. "Hack" is just wiring them to an extention cord rather then hard wire them to your electical panel breaker. You can also wire an audio alarm to a motion sensor if you want an sound warning. Cost is around $50.
I'm with the above poster, I put my stuff out on the 31st, then it comes down that night.

I bought a cheaper version of this on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Driveway-Patro...2967818&sr=8-1 I attached the sensor on the back of a tombstone in the first row next to the sidewalk and pointed it toward the house so it would cover the yard and the rest of the tombstones behind it. I think it was way too sensitive and the rabbits that visited my yard at 2am would set it off.
