Found a great, versatile, battery-operated high-output spotlight while at TUESDAY MORNING the other day that might work for a number of haunters out there. It's the RiteLite LPL748 model Hi-Output 1 Watt LED accent light in silver, made by Lancer and Loader and has tons of great features. I paid $9.99 for it at TM but it's sold all over the place (although so far TM has the best pricing that I've found). It's definitely a product I could see using elsewhere around my house during the rest of the year. I love the portability of it.
It runs on 3AAs, has several swivel options for directional positioning, very bright 1W LED bulb, on/off and variable dimming button. It has a base that can be placed on a surface, but also comes with a hook and loop tape square as well as screws for other mounting options. The flat, round-shaped face of the LED head lends itself to easy attachment of colored gels for variable colored light output. Not an outdoor light, but I'm sure can be used outdoors if protected or in dry weather.
Here's a link to Walmart's site which shows a pretty good image of it. Home Depot, Sears, Ace Hardware, etc. all carry it (if not in the store, online). For me Tuesday Morning was the cheapest option (although I only found 1 at my local store), as it involved no shipping. Home Depot online has free shipping, but priced at $13.97 ea.
I'd like to pick up a few more of these units before halloween. If anyone finds any other good deals on it, please post.
BTW here's the Lancer & Loader website if you want to check them out. The LPL748 is under their accent lights section. They have other models of LED spotlights that might be useful.

I tried a different Tuesday Morning today and found a few more of the lights (saw more than 4 I think), so I'm set. Based on the number that I found I think this item was recently stocked and should be able to be found at other TM locations as they stock similar things around the same time across the country. I'll stage a graveyard scene outside this weekend and post a picture of the lights in use at night so you guys can see it.

Yeah, the Rite Lite brand is pretty good quality, even the "regular" LEDs (the small ones without a wattage rating) are pretty darn' bright, though I still haven't decided whether or not they're higher quality or just being overdriven. Haven't seen much dimming in anything I've bought so far. They have motion sensor lights but usually they're very close range, 6 in or less.

A little pricey for my blood but a great product.
