I've used Liquid Nails Heavy Duty Construction adhesive on several foam projects and it has held up really well, even after several years on some items.

I used Loctite PL 300 VOC Foamboard Adhesive for all of my tombstones. It really worked out great and dried pretty fast. It really bonds the foam together and was easy to use . It was $3.44 at home depot. You just have to watch what you use so that it dosen't eat at the foam. I also used this on the white styrofoam blocks that you get from packages to protect products. I used my finger to smooth it out and had no problems with it on my hands. I guess I should have used gloves but I hate wearing them.

I was reading over at Hot Wire Foam Factory's Q&A that Liquid Nails (over time) eats the foam. I had used it for some of the horse and noticed a bit of it eating away when I was carving it down. Another problem: once it dries, it's very hard to carve.
I loved Loctite's foamboard adhesive but Home Depot no longer carries it. The Loctite PL 300 is always too dry for me in the tube so it's a blasted pain to squeeze out. Decided that I'm going to order the Loctite foamboard adhesive online it I ever need more.
The Gorilla Glue idea sounds promising...

Terra I put mine in a caulking gun and had no problem with it. When I was done using it I put a nail the size of the hole into the tip of the adhesive, I hope my Home Depot still carries it, I wonder why they stopped?

No, they still carry the PL 300 (though I'm going to try the bigger hole in the tip idea!).
This is the Loctite version that I loved and they no longer carry:

I love Hilti foam or Great stuff foam for gluing foam together. For me, foam to foam seems to make a great bond. ( Great Stuff foam to foam blocks or sheets of foam etc.) I guess you could say Great Stuff becomes one with the foam blocks or sheets of foam, etc.. You just need to use wooden skewers to hold the blocks together until the Great Stuff drys and then shave off any run off. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ales-ribs.html
I also like to use Flexall compound to cover the joints after everything is glued together. It stays flexible after it drys and sands easily. You can get it at Home Depot. http://www.phenopatch.com/product_de...aspx?product=2

We use either elmers wood glue (after painted it is as waterproof as everthing else) or the construction adhesives used to glue wall trim, it usually silicone based and does not dissolve the foam.
