I am looking at doing my first actual yard haunt this year, and trying to figure out a theme and which props to use. However, I have no trees in my yard! I live in a small development, so my front yard is not extremely big. This seems to limit a lot of my options. My neighbor does have a tree that is next to the curb, so I am thinking I may be able to run a cable or something to my house, but there are a lot of things I'd like to try, such as the Axworth Ghost, but it seems like I will not be able to without a way to hang it in the air. Has anyone else had a successfult haunt with these kinds of limitations?

I have no trees in my yard also. You could try hangning the ghost off the house, or have you thought of building the stand out of PVC? I do a graveyard and since most do not have alot of trees, it still works.

Pillars or Gateway in a run down graveyard would be tall enough I would think or if you see any downed trees with big branches driving around grab some to make smaller looking dead ones. Sorry, all I got right now.

I have no trees, have accepted the limitation, and just keep everything to the ground. (any trees you see are the neighbor's)
The good thing about no trees is there's nothing to block the view, so you can put really dramatic items out to grab attention.

The bad news, of course, is that you can't hide things as well, and there is a certain amount of atmosphere that trees provide...
As for the axeworthy, specifically, you could put a really big attention grabber out front. A big entrance, a scarecrow, etc, and then hang the end off of that.
Space is always a constraint. Some open their garage, I personally have begun to utilize the back yard. But, I've seen plenty of fun things done with small spaces as well. Someone on here even does a balcony in an apartment!

The trees in our haunt seem to be more of a hinderance than anything else. They take up a lot of space that could be used for more props, and give us limited traffic options.

Do you have a light pole or power pole out at the street? I have my axeworthy attached (at one corner) at the light pole out in front of my house.
Shhhh. Wait. What was that?

We had a similar issue at our previous house, and our new one as well....so we made dead trees!
Went to a ravine in our river valley and drug out some dead fall. They look sort of creepy and are great to hang stuff on! We attached the stumps to plywood base, attached a few extra branches here and there with a drill. We also weight the bases when in use, keeps everyone safe,

I use old large tree branches staked in the ground for trees!

No trees for me. A small one I "share" with a neighbor who- I am pretty sure- will not appreciate my magical Halloween wonderland.
Like others, I get small bare trees from the forest and stake or put them in a planter. The bottom of the planter can be disguised with further flora and fauna from the woods.
You just can't put heavy objects in the tree. Light crows, cheesecloth ghosts, etc. I put fake chains in mine. Good luck.

I'm in a similar situation and one thing I was thinking of...to give the yard some depth is corn stalks. Not sure if that is an option for you. My thought was to cut some pvc sink it in the ground and shove a corn stalk in it... Not really a "Tree" but you could probably hide some sort of structure for your ghost behind it.
