I figured I'd come to you guys, since we have some experts on lighting. I am helping my local theatre with their lighting for a production of "Sleepy Hollow". I was wondering if you can use Outdoor Floodlights inside? The bulbs are 100 watt, and some are 50 watt. My only worry is that they will become too hot. I haven't really tried this before, but they need about 20 or so floodlights, and I just don't have that many indoor floodlights!

Not knowing what your stage and setup will be, you may have to talk to someone about risk of fires. Not knowing what is existing, you don't want something that will be too hot or placed in the wrong area. I believe indoor lights will be best. There are new ones out there that don't get hot and are bright.

You shouldn't have a problem using them. Just keep them away from curtains & fabrics.

That was my thinking exactly. And I scratched the idea of using the floodlights in the overhead sockets, it's just too risky. Instead, I ended up attaching Floodlight holders to Mic-stands and making my own spotlights. I put together 9 of these, and hid them behind props, and curtains. Worked out great!
