What type of paints or stain do you use to paint the Lindberg skulls? I have it put together and am ready. It has a slick surface so do you do something to prep, like sanding....etc...? thanks for ay info.

Get sand paper that refers to wet sanding. Dip the paper in water and sand away. This will take off the slick surface without removing your detail. Any type of paint will stick to it, but since you mentioned Lindberg, use acrylics. Complete it with a mat finish clear coat. I want to see pics of this on top of a stack of Edgar Allen Poe books and a candle nearby.

Kilz (spray can or brushed on) may work too. It will give you a rough surface when it dries & it sticks to anything. But it will be super bright white when you're done.

I find that chestnut colored wood stain works well on plastic skulls. Put in on with a little hobby paint brush and smear it around with some paper towels until you like the color -- with more stain in the hollows (like between the teeth) and less on the exposed ridges and bumps. If you dont like it then you can also remove it with a paper towel since the stain takes a while to dry.

I wouldnt think that the choice of stain brand would matter much. My ace hardware has a brand that comes in a little containers so that's what i picked.

    That's how I did these

I guess the problem is if your skull has seams then this will make them more noticable. Not sure what a lindberg skull is.

Wow! That is impressive. I love how you highlighted the veins with the red paint. Really gross!
