I am changing the theme of my haunt to zombies this year. I thought of removing the electric chair prop room and adding something with zombies. The electric chair just won't theme in.
The room is approximately 10' X 12'. Entrance is on 1 wall and the exit is the wall perpendicular. The wall directly across from the entrance is a solid wall and the last wall will have an actor entrance.
I have thoughts of a 'Zombie Response Team' inside the room waiting for the public. When they enter, the acting begins. Then a zombie breaks through the wall and the ZRT have to shoot the zombie. This is where the air cannons go off and the public are rushed through the exit to continue.
The problem I face is the wall needs to be easily reset for each group. Which will be several times a night. I'm not sure if this is feasible.
I'm open to any other ideas that the creative forces on here may have.
So let the creative minds start working.

Instead of breaking through a wall, what about a faux door. Something light weight - foam? Pre-break the door into 3 separate pieces; zombie breaks through; door shatters; reassemble 3 pieces. Wood furring strips to brace the backside... overlap the strips and use velcro to hold together.... I dunno... just spit-ballin.
I suppose all that could be used for a section of wall. I picture velcro, or magnets, or just make 4 dozen cardboard walls and keep replacing

Darkmaster, you need to look through Terra's blog. She did Zombie apocalypse last year and she has a bunch of tutorials in her blog that would help you with scenery. Here is the link:

Also go to her youtube page and watch the videos from 2010 here is a link, you find all the ideas you need there just tie everything together with what we have going on in ZR vehicle thread.

Excellent resource TUmblindice.
Fabric walls would be easy, but they don't have that 'breaking down' effect... that I can think of.

I have the perfect setup if I was making a movie. It would be a one shot deal. Unfortunately, this needs to be reset every time.
Thanks and keep them coming.

Great theme! Had a lot of fun with it last year. How about you paint a faux door on a wide fabric overhang? Have it cut in the center so the actor can fly through it.
With your electric chair... Perhaps you can still use parts of it and make a version of Poison Props great burning zombie?
Tumblindice, thanks so much for the mention

Thanks Tumblindice and Terra.
I like the idea of still using the chair and frying a zombie. Then have a zombie break through the wall and he is shot by the ZRT.
I like the idea of a wall, because we have a company near us that sells styrofoam blocks for blockwalls. I can build a wall and leave an opening for the blocks and then these are knocked in and the Zombie is shot.
Keep the ideas coming.

Terra, I like the faux door because that won't have to be reset up. Just come through the slit and go back out. I just wonder how long this will hold up and not have the help end up tearing it and then we're down.
I can toss this idea around and try it out before hand.
Thanks

My gateway into the haunt has strips of black landscape fabric (but it's the kind the pro's use - strong stuff) and I've used it for 2 years now and has held up great. It's stapled to death at the top into a spanning furring strip so that helps.

We may go with this idea of the material. My son and I have been brain storming and I believe this is going to be perfect. This zombie theme and what I have setup already will be perfect. With this material being used, we won't have to reset anything, just back through.
Nice work, thanks Terra.
