NEW & IMPROVED (?) boarded window & broken glass
    #1
    Guest Guest

Got one boarded window (boards are getting re-painted later in the summer) and broken glass kinda done. Still need to permanently attach a couple of things.

It's all one piece which makes it SUPER easy to hang. (I love it when I use my brain! ) Ignore the twine that I used to hang it in the pic... will be using something better

And MANY thanks to Terra for allowing me to steal her idea on the transparencies!!! love that idea. So easy and better than plexiglass!!

So, what do y'all really think? Seriously. I'm not fishing for compliments like I normally do!!

btw- I don't use those shutters for Halloween... I have creeepy ones that I put up.

    Thank you very much!!

I made them using the faux window pane thingys. Found them free at a thrift shop.

Then I used Terra's transparency method. Click here: http://www.halloweenforum.com/blogs/...-tutorial.html

Except I cheated and used the frosted glass spray at Hobby Lobby, $7.99

edited: Ace has similar spray for $6.49.

I put a black cloth/ sheet behind the broken glass, also found cheap at thrift store. BTW- Did a similar thing last year & it sux not being able to see out of your windows for a month.

And the boards were made, a couple of years ago, this way: ( posts #s 92, 94, & 95) click here: CREEPYCATHY'S HAUNT...so far

    thanks, again!

Looks really terrific (I mean scary) on the house. How long did it take to make?

I love the look, and there's so much you can do with the idea.

For instance, you could put a hand print in the window frost. That might also be creepy!

    thank you!!!

Terra- It really didn't take long at all to make. Most things were already made, it was just a matter of assembling it. Not counting the time spent watching the paint dry or the 3 days spent staring at it wondering how the heck I'm going to cut the transparencies, then I'd say total time was about 45 minutes.

And I LOVE the handprint idea! thanx for that!!

    thanx, again, y'all!!!

I love this. I am going to plan on attempting a shack facade this year, and I really needed to figure out how to do the broken windows. Question answered! Thanks for showing!

    Looks awesome!
