Any idea's for a facade for a mine themed haunt. I'm thinking a sort of broken down looking brick building type thing. Give me your input.

This link below may help you get some ideas for your theme. I visited there last spring and it was great! All I kept thinkin about was all of the great mine themed haunters out there! So many ideas and great facade ideas to go wild with. Maybe this will help you a little bit! Best of luck to ya!

Yardhauntjunkie did a haunted mine theme in '09. Here's a link to that album for inspiration: http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...009-haunt.html

If you go with an old pioneer styled gold mine haunt you could mock up a cave entrance with some heavy looking timber props.
Skeletal miners with pick axes and shovels and spooky hurricane lamps.
    Kids could prospect for candy...
Good luck! can't wait to see what your haunt gets up to come Halloween!

It is always a good feeling to be scrolling through a thread and see someone else mentions something that you have made. I personally was going to post this picture.....

Also I went with weathered old wood instead of the brick idea for my "mining shack" mainly because I could scrounge the wood for free.

This image from skull and bone was my inspiration.

Here's my album for my Haunted Mine theme last year. I made the mine entrance out of pallets and the mine interior out of black painter's plastic. It crumples up nicely and looked great.

This looks beyond awesome, YHJ! Simply unreal. I love the signs too, they really add to it!

I was starting to think about doing a creepy shack facade this year somewhat similar to this, so to see somebody else's on here in reality is always a reassuring feeling.

I just have a few questions if you don't mind:
What are the dimensions of the facade?
For the walls, is that just lumber screwed onto plywood sheets or is it a painted on design?
What did you use for the awning/roof?
    How do you support it?
    How were the windows made?
You say you got some of the wood for free. How much do you think building something similar to this would cost?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide with any of my questions!
