Thread: Fish scales?

Was thinking of building a fiji mermaid, but making the scales have me puzzled thought of using wood, potato chips, plastic, and cardboard. What do you suggest?

Old-Fashioned style oatmeal looks like scales before being cooked IMO. Maybe you could use spray glue on it, then sprinkle it over the prop?

I had the same concerns as we were building our mermaid. My wife was able to find some great fabric with little sequins. The color reflection is great and I didn't have to sew on 1000 scales.



The hands still need to be painted but other than that, she's done.
