I've got a Dayton 2Z805 gear motor here. It's as strong as a bull, but only spins at 2 RPM. Anyone think of a good use for it ?![]()

Put a big gear or pulley on it and gear it down to a smaller one to make rotations out of it. As far as Halloween uses go... I can't think of anything - but like I say if you want more rotations gear it down some to help with that.

Thanks. Taking inventory, I've got 2 brand new wiper motors, 2 Rotissere motors, and a Dayton 12RPM gear motor just like the 2 RPM one.
I'm not really up for gearing it down.
If anyone has a good use for it, it's yours for the cost to ship to you. Motor is like brand new. Placing an ad in the fore sale section as well.

I just salvaged 5 1-rpm motors and was hoping to see some suggestions, other than a minute hand on a clock I came up blank for ideas.
When storage is a concearn, put your monster props under the kids beds.

A nice slowly opening coffin lid or door, as seen in some movies for suspense, seems like a good application for a slow RPM motor with good torque. 2 RPM would make it go from closed to open every 15 seconds; 1 RPM would be twice that time.
The clock hand idea is also good.Demon Dog

Could you use it on a Flying Crank Ghost? There are some great tutorials on this forum for making one. Where do you get those motors from? If I knew where to salvage them from that would be great. I'm trying to find at least one that is between 3 - 6 RPM so I can make my own FCG.

Take a look at an oscillating fan. You might be able to use your 2 rpm motor for a "Head Turner."
