A year or two ago I came across a really cool image of what looked like an invisible man (you could see his form though) sitting on the top of a slide. It was very intriguing and I just stumbled across the "Off the Roll Tape Sculpture Contest" held annually by Scotch tape and I'm thinking the photo I saw probably was an entry a few years back for this contest.
Entries for this year are now closed and they will be selecting this year's winner shortly. Entries are posted and so are past winners. There is also an area on the site of how to make your own tape sculpture and I thought this technique might be useful possibly in someone's haunt. Here's the link: http://www.offtherollcontest.com/Mai...ntestOver.aspx
My favorite I think is the 3D TV entry from Bradford W from Miami, Fl. Basically it's an arm holding a gun coming out of a TV set that has a static picture on it. The light from the TV lights up the arm and it's totally cool IMO. Reminds me of Poltergeist movie.

Wow, cool stuff ....love it...the TV hand is great too..A monster hand would have been good.
What a great way to re-invent a product to the masses and sell some some tape at the same time too, right? The marketing guy that thought of that one just got a promotion.

Hey, that's a really cool link and that gun was cool. So, was the spider web picture. The tutorials are definitely a new resource. So glad you started this thread.

Glad it's something new to people. I kind of think the tape sculptures look ice sculptures if that gives anyone an idea for something. Maybe an ice cave with frozen captured beings in it, i.e. in the vein of The Thing. A few good cans of spray snow would go a long way to add to the effect as well.

Some of those were super creative, but I was pretty baffled by the voting that occurred on them. Many of those that to my thinking anyway were the best got just a handful of votes while others that didn't seem particularly elaborate or difficult scored way higher. Still, a very inventive use of tape.

I love the hand thru the Tv one best, would make a great prop for a haunted living room, but without the gun,.....
maybe just a hand reaching out or several small children hands coming out a tv with children "ghost voices"whispering & echoing in the background " help me" or "I'm ( we're ) coming for you...."
Does open up some cool ideas & possibilities......When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........
