I am very inexperienced in making props but I was hoping to make a vampire this year.
My plan was to get some sort of body shaped thing and put a head and costume on it.... is this a good deal?

I have a black dress that I wore a couple of years ago that I was going to use.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For $30 where's the concern, IMHO. If you find it isn't what you want, turn around and sell it again.

$30 is quite a bit of money to me... not to mention driving to get it.
Thanks for your opinion though!

No biggie. :-)
I'm really just curious if it was worth the money or if I was likely to find something that would work better somewhere else.
Like if people here had some sort of cheap source for getting things to make life-size figures or something...

PVC comes to mind. I know for fact people on here have made PVC tubing armatures, etc. I've seen someone here make a rib vage out of a five gallon pail. Usually the figures are made to be corpsed over, but for your application I'm sure it would be fine.

I'd get it just to cover it in webbing...
I bought a real (male) figure mannequin for $40 on craigslist last year. Granted he was missing the stand and his right hand and was headless, but it was a bargain.
I don't think $30 is too bad, but I'd email them and ask if they'd take $20. "Never hurts to ask" is my motto.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

Yeah, I think I'll check into it.
