Hello, everyone!
It's that time of year again... to start figuring out what I want to do for my annual haunt so that I can calculate how much I need to save up.
Now, I cam across this "Pole Bearer" animated prop. Let's just say it's nowhere near my budget! However, I'm thinking I can do something similar, in static form.
I know how I'm going to go about building and supporting the coffin. Now, what kind of skeletons would do the trick? I have literally no experience at all with skeletons. Would the "Bucky" skeletons work? Is there a way to "corpse-ify" these Bucky skeletons?
Or maybe is there another way to try to replicate this prop as closely as I can?
Help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Oh man! I love this! I have a coffin from two years ago (made from foam insulation = light weight). Get 4 Bluckies from Big Lots and give them a corpse job (ala Spooky Blue). Assemble the skeletons over pvc frames so they stand up good. I usually stand them on rebar sections pounded into the ground. Yes, yes its just crazy enough to work!

Here's a similar project you might get some ideas from - http://hauntforum.com/showthread.php?t=23683

Rebar. That is exactly what I was thinking. It is inexpensive and can be bent to match the skeleton form.

I would pay a few dollars more and get something better than those biglot skeletons as they are becoming overpriced for what they are. I had bought some life size skeletons somewhere around the 30 to 40 dollar mark. I bought 2 from target and purchased about 8 of the baseball vendor ones when they went on sale. The baseball vendor skeletons stand on their own and even talk and the heads rotate. If you are able to get those you could cut the speaker wires and have the heads rotate to give some movement. someone here on the forum did make something simular. maybe they might chime in and tell you how they made theirs.

Bucky's are gunna cost more. They look better, more realistic, etc. But if your trying to be cost effective, you should be able to get some blucky's for cheaper. I'm sure you could find corpsing on here for sure. I know I've read through a few.

I have loved that display since The Scare Factory came out with it! Good luck with it. Cheap Bluckys? What happened to them? They are as rare as the cheap Blow mold pumpkins. What happened to all that cheap stuff China was supposed to be making? We still have our yearly opportunity to get group buy Bluckys here on the forum. Check the archives if the thread has not already been renewed for this year. You will have to wait for the product though. Everything else could be made and just waiting for the skelleys. The corpsification is all over the archives. Just pick the process you like best. They all have their strong points. The Buckys would look more real but the cost skyrockets. How deep are your pockets? Even the cheapest of the cheap will run you around $400 for this project. Sorry, that just blew my whole budget for the next 4 years!!! If you have to go full retail that most shops are charging the total goes up to around $750. My head is swimming. Like I said, good luck. I will have to bow out and just watch you young bucks build these beautiful displays. Keep me updated though. I think it would be a fantastic addition to anybody's collection and I want to see your end product.

I like it, I would put in the coffin a recording from monti python of I'm not dead yet, make the lid rise and fall, then have the pallbearers singing he has a one way ticket to ride but he don't care
