I'm currently using a Chauvet Hurricane fogger (450w)....I've used several foggers (usually from Walmart) and haven't really gotten any good effects....I've built a couple of fog chillers - didn't seem to make much difference...never gotten the effect of fog creeping along the ground -
Does anyone have any tips, or can point me to a website to show me where I might be going wrong?
Thanks fellow members....

You should be getting low fog considering where you live.I live in wv and normally it is chilly and not a whole lot of chilling is needed.I have used a plastic bucket follwing the directions of a empty kitty litter bucket tut.I have also use a styrofaom cooler that was also a angel monument plus froggys chillin juice.
Of course weather plays a huge role.
Here is one of my pictures

great photos --
Usually without a chiller I get rolling banks of fog - one year a neighbor called the FD, thought my house was on fire....laughing.
Maybe the problem is the low "strength" of the fogger itself...I've never used anything but foggers in the 400w range....have to take a look on ebay or amazon for one....

My only advice would be "don't sacrifice quality for quantity." I bough a 400w and a 1000w
last year from a "halloween" store and got totally ripped off!
The 400w worked great but the 1000w was a piece of junk. It never worked right and died totally
on the big night before it even got dark. They were both the same brand but clearly the 1000w was defective.
And if you've ever bought anything from those stores that pop up in late september then you know "All sales are final".
I'm gonna look into a Chauvet this year, I hear they work great.

Not necessarily....simple physics comes into play. Heat Rises. So if the ambient air is pretty cold, then you have to cool the fog to an even lower temp. Also the smaller foggers that don't heat up as much should be better for low lying fog, but don't spit out the volume of fog the bigger ones do.
My experience is that fog chillers work best in warmer weather....which, usually doesn't come into play around here on Halloween

maybe I'll jump up to a 900 watt fogger then....I never do business with the "Halloween" stores like "Spirit Halloween" that open up here - I'll go to WalMart, or amazon or ebay.....thanks...

We never had "Movie Special Effect" type fog untuil investing in big, over-the-top foggers. We now have two 1,500 W units, and, yes, we got all the fog you could ever want. I got these from e-bay, during the "off season", three bills for one, just under $400.oo for the other. But if you wanna give 'em something to talk about, that's the way to go. And we use Froggy"s Fog Juice.

Never thought of it that way.But it makes complete sense.
I just thought since mine stays lower to the ground in cold weather that is what made the difference.Because to honest my"chillers" have always been just thrown together with ice tossed in.No pipes-just the fogger shoved up close and ice added.
