I really need everybodys help with this. Since this forum is world wide, somebody has got to have an answer to this dilemma.
I have several animal skulls ranging in age from VERY old to 1 or 2 years old. I need to find a way of preserving all of them. The reason is, they are going to be part of my cementary fence columns I'm putting together for this fall.
My pride and joy are a his and hers set of young buffalo skulls for the entrance columns. They are about 35 years old, and not in very good shape.
What should I use? I have a container large enough to dip them in, to coat the entire skull. With these two, it won't be too little, to late if I can save them.
Every fence post will have a skull on it, ranging from deer, sheep, and some I'm not sure of. The effect will be worth it when I'm done. HM
You said you wanna what? with who? I don't think so!

I would positively call some taxidermy shops in your area to find the best professional way to preserve your skulls.

Fangoria - that is very good advice, and I did try that avenue. You'd be amazed how closed mouth that industry is. Oh sure, they'd be more than willing to do it FOR me, but like a lot of haunters, if I can't do it myself, then it is too cost prohibitive. (ok, I'm too cheap to pay someone). This is why I am turning to the helpful folks here at the forum. There has to be another hunter on here who has successfully accomplished this task. I'm patient, I'll wait. HM

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Thank you both Fangoria and scourge! Once more, the forum has come thru for me again! Both websites were informative, I got my problem solved, AND I learned something in the process. I have a lot of work ahead of me, and I surely will post the pictures of the finished product. Somebody on another thread made a suggestion that will increase the construction time (and hurt my head) to wire it just in case of changes in the future. Time well spent, I hope. Even my wife is behind me on this and hoping for great results. Again, thanks! HM

One more thing, after all the help, and work that is going into this, I think I will try my hand at a tutorial for the next person who might want to try this. HM
