being this is my first attempt to make an air cannon type deal i was wondering if this would do the job for the solenoid, i don't have any experience with solenoids so i don't have a clue.

also on a side note....is there a cheaper option to the pickboo chip controller?

here are the specs and a picture since the damn link will not work no matter what i try

    Specifications:
    •Voltage: 12V DC
    •Pipe size: 1/4"
    •Orifice: 2.5mm
    •Operating temperature: -5˚C ~ +80˚C
    •Wattage: 2W
    •Operating pressure: 0kg/cm² - 10kg/cm²
    •State: normally closed
    •Usage: water, air, diesel
The 12V solenoid valve is brand new and boxed

    V1.0C.Z

That should work, although the 1/4" inlet and outlet might be a bit on the small side. It depends on how much volume you want to have available for each burst.

The controller.... about the least expensive way to trigger this would be a manual switch that someone would turn on and off..........

I would go with a bigger diameter pipe. To controll mine, I bought a $9(US dollars) mat alarm sensor from Harbor Freight tools and hacked that into the valve and power wiring.

For my valve I used a 1" Orbit sprinkler valve from home depot. They are rated at 24 volts.
Here is a how to video

Not sure what you mean by working five times? Mine works as long as I have a supply of air going to it.

You really need a compressor feeding the cannon. Mine is empty in 2 or 3 blasts.

What I did last year, I ran a long hose from the compressor to my haunt. The compressor was out of site and could not be heard.
