ill have to look at different pump speeds and what not to really tell, plus the power of the motor its self will determin it also

It sounds like a great idea! they sell check valves that can increase or decrease the flow but if you want it to be an irregular flow, then you will need to make a FS2 fluorescent starter/extension cord hack and a light duty pump...

It requires a starter like this one shown at the link.

Any normal 3-6ft extension cord cable like this one.

If you can find an electrical shop nearby or online, that would be best to buy a starter socket as well like this one here.

You will also need an electrical box with cover for safety reasons. All wiring should be contained within this containment box.

Most items can be found at your local big hardware stores.

After all the needs/accessories are purchased you basically cut the extension cord in halfway or about a foot into the cord(my personal preference). Then you run both pieces of cord thru opposite sides of the electrical box so that the cut ends are exposed/sticking out of the center of electrical box. *NOTE:I would recommend securing the wires within the box by making a knot inside the box for both wire ends, but leave yourself some slack!

Now you will need wire strippers to strip the wires back like 3/4" and then connect only one side of the wires directly together with a wire connector and leave the other wire for connecting to the Starter socket.

Once you have the starter socket connected or secured, pop in the FS2 starter and place it in the electrical box. Afterwards place the safety cover on the electrical box before testing though!

You are ready to connect your flickering power hacked cable. It does however only support a certain amount of wattage(this version is 15 watts) but there are other higher wattage starters availabe out there. So know the current that you will need to draw then make a choice of which is right for you.

Hope this helps a little! This unit also works great for flickering lamps, lighting or various irregular power feeds!

LEGAL: I am not however going to be held responsible for anybody hurting themselves, property, or anyone else during making, testing, and/or the use of this power cable hack period! But seriously, Electricity is dangerous and should only be done by a person who is confident and knowledgable of its hazards and all neccessary saftey precautionary steps needed. Good luck!

    Hey King DBB!
I have an HF link here that shows somewhat of of the same concept design. I myself was shown this process back in 2004 by a local prop-shop owner. Best of luck to you!

I thought of doing something similar using a Statue with the eyes bleeding.

Your idea sounds great! What type of pump are you using?
