Still trying to decide if I should be adventurous enough to do 3-axis or just do moving mouth. Thoughts?

hmmm.. im making a greeter prop with a bucky skull and pvc body and i drilled holes in the eyes and glued plastic ieyes off ebay to the back of an led eyes light and wired them up if you wanted to make the mouth move you could use a gear motor...
best bet is to draw something up and design a mechanism... if you have questions on what you do lemme know!Lost Souls Cemetery and Asylum

I'm wanting to at least make his mouth sync with this: My Bottomless Mineshaft. So, I know that'll be servos and syncing, etc. It'll be fun. I love to learn and build!

Last year I ordered just the pivot rod and linkage bits from GYS then made the rest myself. http://reaperfx.com/galleries/grim-reaper-v2.html. I'm happy with the result and I got the satisfaction of the build too.
The circuit connects to a PC. I wrote some software that plays an mp3 while sending synchronized commands from a data file. I like this method as I can control all of the movements including the jaw. Eventually I plan to modify the software to allow live control and some kind of voice changing thing.
If you're interested in controlling it like this then let me know. I wouldn't mind sharing the software or helping with the electronics etc.

I think I know what I want now... I'll plan on starting really simple... maybe upgrading to 3-axis one day. Smithy, I'd be very interested in the software that you wrote. Do you happen to have a tutorial site on how you first worked with a skull? Thanks!
