I'm not 100% certain, but I think a slide tee is used to slide over the outside of PVC pipe, used for making PVC furniture, but unsuited to use under pressure, whereas a slip tee is used as a plumbing connector, designed for use under pressure (although you can also use it for furniture, props, etc).

    Hope this helps.

I think the confusion is that the terms are not consistent. On this site what I refer to a slide T is called a slip T. And a slip T which is for use in irrigation is called simply a T connector. However. On this site.

The special slide T is referred to as a slip slide T.

    Chris,

Sorry for the confusion. But all I can tell you is that you will not find the special furniture slip / slide T at home depot. So to be clear a normal T looks like a very wide very short T, and it does not allow the pipe to be inserted past 1 inch into any side of the T. The special slip / slide T's hardly look like a T They look more like a fat I. They slip / slide completely over the pipe. And they can act like a pivot joint, which is what we need for various parts of the design I gave you. You need 8 of these special T's if you want to build the design I have given you and we include adjustability in the lower mount for the cylinder. The idea here is if we want to be able to attach the rod at different points on the pivot arm, we will need to be able to move the lower support arm up or down to keep the clown upright when the cylinder is collapsed.
